RPAC GIRL'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT-ROUND ONE RESULTS

The RPAC Basketball Tournament started today and for the West, Dundy County Stratton was the host site.


In game one, it was #4 Wallace vs #5 Hitchcock County. Wallace jumped to a 12-9 lead after one quarter, but it was Hitchcock County's second quarter that helped them seal the game as they outscored the Wildcats, 25-6. The Falcons defeated Wallace, 60-41. Karlie Finely led the Wildcats with 16 points. Katie Jarecke posted 19 points for the Falcons while Karstyn Porter and Reagan Hagan contributed 12 points each. Hitchcock County advances to take on #1 Maywood-Hayes Center in Trenton at 6:00 P.M. on Monday and Wallace will play the winner of Dundy County Stratton and Maxwell at 4:15 P.M. on Thursday in Paxton.



In game two #7 Maxwell and #2 Paxton took the court. Maxwell was hot during the first period as they outscored the Tigers, 17-7. After that, Paxton took control of the game to defeat Maxwell, 47-39. Audrey Holm led the Tigers with 18 points and Ella Fote added 12 points. Paxton advanced to take on #3 Wauneta-Palisade on Monday at 7:45 P.M. in Trenton and #7 seed Maxwell will play #6 seed Dundy County Stratton on Monday in Trenton at 4:15 P.M.


In game 3, #3 Wauneta-Palisade and #6 Dundy County Stratton faced off. The Broncos defeated the Tigers, 60-45. Wauneta-Palisade advances to take on #3 seed Paxton in Trenton on Monday at 7:45 P.M.



On the East side, Alma was the host site.


In game one, it was #4 Southwest and #5 Arapahoe who took the court. Southwest took control early and never let up as they defeated the Warriors, 58-47. Emerson Swanson led the way for Arapahoe with 17 points, seven assists, and six steals. Caylin Barnett led the way with 18 points while Kyra Nelms added 13 points for the Roughriders. Southwest advances to take on #1 Alma on Monday in Curtis at 6:00 P.M. Arapahoe will play the winner of #6 Medicine Valley and #7 Bertrand on Thursday in Bertrand at 4:15 P.M.





For the second game of the day, #3 Cambridge and #6 Medicine Valley battled it out. After an early lead for the Trojans, Medicine Valley kept quarter two close but Cambridge was too much for the Raiders. Cambridge won 58-32. Stella Heapy led the way for Medicine Valley with 17 points, nine rebounds, and six steals. Cambridge advances to take on #2 Southern Valley Monday in Curtis at 7:45 P.M. while Medicine Valley will take on #7 Bertrand in Curtis on Monday at 4:15 P.M.


The final game was #2 Southern Valley and #7 Bertrand. This game was all Southern Valley from the start as they defeated the Vikings, 50-16. Ann Bose led the Eagles with 25 points and Brynn Baily added 12 points. Southern Valley advances to take on #3 seeded Cambridge on Monday in Curtis at 7:45 P.M. and Bertrand will take on #6 Medicine Valley on Monday in Curtis at 4:15 P.M.
