ALMA FALLS IN GIRL'S D1-6 DISTRICT FINAL




It was a buzzing atmosphere on Friday evening in a jam-packed gym at Alma High School as the Cardinals played host to SEM in the D1-6 District Final. Alma was the #6 seed and the Mustangs were the #11 seed in this matchup. SEM was able to nab the win and punch their ticket to state with a 70-56 win.


It was SEM who started out strong in the game leading 12-5 in the first quarter and that was the score going into the second period. Addison Neal and the Cardinals caught fire in the second quarter as they put up 25 points and the Mustangs and Alma were tied at halftime 30-30.



In the third quarter, Alma pressed on and took a five-point lead. They went into the final stanza with a 47-42 lead. In the fourth quarter, SEM tightened up on defense and got some offense going as they were able to take the lead. They never looked back as they were able to win 70-56.






Alma closes out the season at 17-4. They were led by Addison Neal with 26 points and six three-pointers in the game. SEM will play in the NSAA State tournament next week which runs from March 1st-4th in Lincoln.
